For Halloween we have made a rainbow-style cake with coffee, chocolate and vanilla complete with a chocolate truffle rat. And we also have some googly-eyed chocolate muffins. Scary looking, but tasty.

We are now open on Mondays until 8pm! Which makes us one of the few places around town you can grab something delicious for dinner without having to cook it for yourself on a Monday night. And our new menu is the same as the old one but with all our popular specials now added.
As advertised, today we started clearing out the creek at the west side of the park. A few wallabies lost their home (cry us a river wallabies) but everyone else was delighted. It looks amazing and we're now trying to decide what to call the new river... We could post hundreds of these but we'll spare everyone by just including a few! And FYI we've decided to call the little guy James. Probably the only thing not boring about this post is the amazing pun it involves. While Mission Beach continues to bake and water restrictions stop us from using mains water, we have managed to rig up an old bore pump with the help of Tully plumber Brian Rutter and now we have loads of sprinklers trying to bring the grass and plants back to life.
Our burgers are a wonder. They're thick, perfectly cooked, juicy and covered in cheese, bacon and egg. If eating a burger is a sin, this burger is like going to Vegas with a [complete as inappropriate] who you kill, stuff in your trunk, and push off into a canyon. And don't get us started on how good our steak sandwiches are.
Anyone in doubt (as if!) about the freshness of our cafe's ingredients should take note of Schnitzel, Roast, Kiev and Tandoori here (FYI, these are our resident cook Lyndel's chickens)
Here is our friend Tom Brown with some local notaries after Mission Beach Rotary put up some 1-300-ANIMAL stickers on the vinegar stations along the beach. This is the number to call in case any animal welfare is needed, and not for calling upon the primitive man and crazed drummer of Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem (although part of us wishes it was).
