On Tuesday, half the management of Dunk Island View Caravan Park decided to do a familiarisation of the Tropical Fruit Safari at Mission Beach tourist information office. The other half did like the second little piggy and stayed at home. Anyway, the "safari" runs Mondays and Tuesdays from 1pm to 2pm for only $5 per person. For those not overly familiar with tropical fruits, and that goes for most of the locals around here, this will blow your taste buds and fill you with lots of useful fruit-based knowledge (it turns out bananas are technically a herb). Our favourites were the Mangosteen, which tastes like fizzy lemonade, and the Abiu, which (no kidding) looks like a small melon but tastes like caramel.
