Over the next few days we'll be adding video footage to our website of the park in the aftermath of Cyclone Yasi. For those not familiar with Yasi, this was a severe tropical cyclone that made landfall in Mission Beach in the early hours of the 3rd of February 2011, causing intense damage to affected areas. Yasi was a category 5 system with a large destructive core and a central pressure of 930 hectopascals. The eye crossed the coastline at Mission Beach just before 12:00am AEST (14:00 UTC) and passed over Tully soon after. Maximum 3-second gusts were estimated to have reached 290 km/h (180 mph).
